As a beginning watch repair hobbyist I'm finding this book is extremely useful. The level of detail via pictures, diagrams and descriptions is extremely thorough. So far any question I had regarding servicing my first mechanical watch has been answered in this book. Using the Kindle version which is great to have on your tablet beside your work space.
Great book indeed. It is a modern book showing tools, methods and plenty of pictures. Explanations are clear. Very useful for the beginner or hobbyist.
Decent enough. A good introduction to WATCH movements. Pictures could be lightened for better visibility. Some space devoted to obsolete escapements could be better utilized.
Just how I needed this information to be laid out. Starts with the "watch repair" person and quickly moves into tools dividing them into catagories, the screwdrivers, the tweezers and then into oilers and oils then on into which, what and how to care for them. Then a quick pass over the bench top and I'm finally getting to the guts. Here comes a new adventure...
